This song was written during Hurricane Sandy. Even though the storm brought a lot of devastation, there was something beautiful about that time period.
Much of my life revolves around the Lower East Side of Manhattan. That area was in total darkness for the first week after the storm. It was scary but beautiful at the same time. I saw people from all walks of life come together to help one another get by. And for the first time, in a long time, we all saw stars over NYC.
